What's up with Spartans so called "fastest time" listed on their website. The time are "40 minutes" for the sprint and stadion, "80 minutes" for the super and, "3 hours" for the beast even though those time are regularly beat during the races. For example during the SoCal Sprint on January 27th 34 elite athletes, 43 age group athletes, and 3 60 OBSTACLES. I was figuring somewhere around 50 percent, too. I saw a post on the official Spartan blog that put DNFs from last year's Vermont beast somewhere close to 40 percent, but I can't vouch for the accuracy of that figure. Spartan must have reliable numbers internally; I can't imagine why they wouldn't release them.
