If a dva makes it back into her mech that's bad for your team. She's standing still during this and is easy to stick, and even if you only deal damage to the mech it removes the armor which opens dva up for you, as tracer, to solo de-mech her again with 1 clip.

I just feel that if you compare self destruct to something like Orisa’s ultimate, it is faster, does more damage in a shorter period of time, and has a As dva, you need to fly into the enemy, get in their face, do some damage, hopefully secure a kill and back out using defense matrix if possible. Dva doesn’t have any range abilities besides her missiles and really those aren’t meant to be long range unless your target is just standing there. If it were like that, DVA could potentially negate all damage of people like pharah, junk rat, Hanzo, and several others quite easily. By making the meter use up approx one sec of the defense meter, there will always be a cost on the meter, and DVA won't be able to negate all incoming damage of some characters. It has damage fall-off, so if you can get far enough away it might only damage you. And some characters can tank it if their cooldowns are available like Roadhog or Zarya, any shield tank with their shield.
